Laurie is also actively involved in giving back to the community through volunteering with job seeker networks, non-profit organizations, and startup ventures.
As a seasoned Human Resources Consultant and Executive Recruiter, Laurie has worked with diverse clients across various industries and company sizes, including technology, banking, non-profit, private equity, startup, healthcare, financial services, retail, SAAS, and manufacturing. In addition to hiring top-tier talent and filling crucial roles for clients, she also specializes in building corporate hiring programs, managing recruiting and HR teams, implementing fair and equitable recruitment processes, conducting employee interview training, and providing DEI and bias training, management training, and employee engagement and total rewards.
Before founding Actions on Purpose, Laurie served as a Recruiting Director for a multi-state accounting consulting firm. She successfully developed and expanded the company's corporate and recruiting placement division. Laurie was responsible for building and managing the corporate and agency recruiting structure and teams, overseeing hiring procedures, budget allocation, and training. Her team played a crucial role in filling critical positions, including CFOs, Controllers, and Managing Directors. Laurie has extensive sales experience, having been an award winning sales person for Fortune 500 companies, including Nordstrom, Pfizer and Robert Half.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Laurie has also held public titles as Miss Alaska Teen USA and Miss Alaska USA, representing Alaska and the United States at national and international events. She served as the Assistant Director of the Miss Alaska USA Pageants, overseeing program operations, events, training, and fundraising.
